NOW WHAT IS THIS?

Now......

  • What is this?
  • Who now owns it?
  • Where was it made?
  • When was it made?
  • Who ACTUALLY made it?
It is still being used for the purpose for which it was made

COROWA - RUTHERGLEN

Went through Threbod to get to Rutherglen. There we stayed with Graham and Margaret Brown. Graham started at WWTC when I did - 1962. He is an addicted cyclist and has done many rides in Europe as well as Australia. In fact a few years ago, he and I did a ride and were joined by Andy Baltaks - the bloke who never felt the cold. Graham is still heavily involved with the local church and leads services and preaches. Not bad for an old bloke.

Main reason for the journey was to attend the annual Number Plate Collectors' gathering in Corowa. I sold a few, auctioned a few and bought a few. All up, it was fun and not too expensive, although there were plates that went for about $220 each.
Looking forward to attending the bonfire at Kenthurst in August. There's even a rumour that Bruce Lucas is gonna make it!!!

COROWA, ADELAIDE, GOULBURN

Graham Brown (from Rutherglen) was the chief ride organiser of the Bike Friday gathering at the end of March. Fay and I were there, and my backside indicated that I did too much cycling over the four days. (Sorry, no photos available.) Well done GB. He has done a considerable amount of cycling in Europe over many years.

Fay and Di (Edwards) Groenewegen used to be dorm mates. They are still close. Matter of fact, I think I took her out for a bit also. A lovely lady, living in Adelaide now.

Di and her family are based in Adelaide. If you call in you might well be privileged to catch FOUR generations. Di's Mum lives with her and is now over 90 (they reckon!) Quite a few ex WWTC folk will remember Di's Mum.

Alan Milne, his wife Margaret, and Fay at Goulburn. The Milnes have lived in Goulburn for many decades. Fay of course was a Goulburn girl during her schooling years. Great to catch up with the Milnes recently.

FIVE GENERATIONS

Maybe the only bloke you might recognise is the fella in the blue shirt on the right - the one with a balding patch at the top.... like so many of us. Did you think it was Kevin Farrell? You were right. The bloke in the check shirt is his son, and you guessed it, that's Kev's grandson in the picture too. Oh, it looks like Kev's Mum is in the picture to give us FIVE GENERATIONS! Well done Kevin. Does anybody know Kev's whereabouts? I'm guessing Canberra or Queanbeyan.

IN THE SIXTIES

There are some folk who don't believe I ever studied. Well, I have proof positive! Here I am doing some work. Dunno whose glasses I borrowed to make the pic as convincing as it could possibly be.

So, do you know any of these people? There are a few familiar faces. How many can you name?

This crazy guy lived next door to me. Still see him a couple of times a year.

...and his room mate was right into the music scene. Still is.
Rob's into fishing, boating and camping.... amongst other interests.
