OF CARS AND SNOW ETC

Snow trips were GREAT fun. Many who went on these had never seen snow before.
Here Di Edwards enjoys being a model..... well, the photographer enjoyed it anyway.
We did think we were pretty flash in those days. I wonder how many could fit into a small Renault to go to dems? Hughes, Porter, Kember.... who else is there?

XXXXXX, Keith Jenkins, Cookie Masters and Bruce Lucas.
Makes me laugh just looking at this photo.

Di Edwards, Lorraine Collins, Fay Bailey, Jan Ferguson & Dale Read.
All Kambu girls from 1963-64.

 Keast, Edwards, Ziedler and Lawrence

BACK IN SIXTY-FOUR

Unbelievable! FIFTY years ago! Can you recognise any from here? I can see Hughes and Powell in front. Maybe also D Mill, Ludwig, Nev Poll, De Lisle and myself. Can you identify others?

Looks like Smartie, Mick Carney and Dino with appropriate ladies - Jan Ferg, Millsie and Fay Bails.
Who said he never did any study? Just to prove you wrong.
Rob H was heavily into the music scene even at this stage.

Maybe the Sports Union? Front row includes: Wright, Fergie, Bails, Smartie, Pinky, Smithy & Bruce Lucas. Of course you know most of the others I guess.
Russ Warfie was always proud of his achievements.

And yes, the illustrious baseball team of 1964. Wonder how many matches we won? Can you name any of the "un-named" five? I think I played 2nd base. Crosweller lives in Wagga and Paton probably in Inverell.

LATE SIXTIES

The late sixties was a special time for us college folk. Some went overseas, some married, some studied (yuck). Unreal that today there are still so many ex WWTC folk who are still connected with others from that establishment!
The Smarts and the Keasts went to Canada. They skied and fished and toured together. (I didn't do much fishing I guess.)

Think this photo was taken on 23 December 1967, one week before Fay and I got hitched. Do you recognise these Kambu cuties? Hope somebody sees this or maybe I should just shut it down.

BLOKES' CARS IN 1964

Hey do you remember how some of the rich kids at college used to own cars? Well I thought they must've been rich anyway. Would you believe the records show there were TWELVE cars owned by the blokes at college at one stage - I'm tipping 1964, but that's a guess.
jjj
Do you remember who owned them?  Would it help if I gave you some initials? OK...
BL,   JP,   AW,   WF (and co.),   RH,   KH,   BMcK,   DM,   NT,   VF,   BK,   and FS.  Can you come up with any of them? I knew a few of them fairly well. The car owners I mean.    Maybe you can match the owners to these cars:
Holden (2), Riley, Peugeot 203 (2), Vanguard, Morris Minor (2), Standard 10, Mini Minor (2), Austin A40. Yep, that adds up to twelve. Good luck.
ggg
PS:  Was informed the late Steve Hill had a Holden at one stage. And also there was a "Mayfair"??? Neil Holm or???

DAVE BAKER PERFORMS IN NEWCASTLE

There's no doubt that the 1963-64 session of WWTC certainly nurtured some talented people. David Baker must be included in this number.

You might remember him as the quirky cartoonist, De Bak, for the 1964 'Talkabout' publications!
After leaving college, Dave went on to study art and music, and established himself as a notable artist and a talented musician.
During the last few years, Dave has written and produced a number of Radio Plays for Cabaret and has performed at various venues with his band 'The Smokin' Chops'.
His most recent production "Boulevard of Blood and Dreams" was performed in Newcastle during October this year . It received rave reviews from the local Newcastle newspapers.
A small group of ex 63/64 WWTC-ites were in attendance at the final show. There have been WWTC-ites at previous shows too.
Bob and Colleen Cureton, David and Lyn Giles, Doug and Lucie Walker, Sue King, Judy James and Marion Giddy ... All had a fabulous weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the show!
