SOME SAD NEWS

I have just heard that Doug and Lucie Walker's 39 year old son, David, died unexpectedly on Friday. He was intellectually handicapped.
Doug went through college in 1963-64. The Walkers have been attending many of the WWTC gatherings over the last decade (my guess.) At Marion's place at Kenthurst, they always brought David who felt comfortable with the old WWTC bunch. Our thoughts go out to them at this very special time.
ffff
Another recent death (December last year) was that of Jackie [Ames] Rohan. Jackie graduated in 1965. She roomed with Jean [Parmenter] Crouch. Jean married Dick Crouch from Tumut and Jackie married another Wagga Ag boy, Pete Rohan. Interestingly Jackie taught with me at Orange Public back in the 60s and Jean was on staff with me at Cooma Public in 80s or maybe 90s.

Dick and Jean (shown here with me) currently own COASTAL CURTAINS in Ulladulla. They will be at our place shortly to replace a bunch of our old blinds (I accidentally typed blonds at first!!!)

I'll post some photos including ones of our ex WWTC gathering here in Sussex Inlet/Cudmirrah. There were 8 ex WWTC folk (plus a few hangers-on). Showed we still know how to party... at least till 10 pm anyway!

Canoeing was just one of the selected activities. Pictured are: Libby (Jim Smart's sister), Dale GK, Joy and Beth (Barry Robbo's wife.) After a 2 hour paddle, 2 people fell into the water getting out of their canoes...can you see who looks the wettest? Thanks for arranging the canoeing Beth.

THAT'S OUR SUE

Sue recently took part in the Canberra Celebrity Charity Apprentice Challenge in order to raise funds for Cerebral Palsy ACT.
For the last 7 months, 12  'apprentices' worked hard to raise money by hosting dinners and barbecues, fashion parades, cocktail parties, and Bocce afternoons etc.  As well, each contestant had to meet several challenges at a final dinner held at the Hellenic Club in Woden.
The challenges included  impersonations of Real celebrities, and performing well known songs, synchronised 'swimming' , and giving a race call. Not a problem for our valiant Sue.

Well, of course, all of us at Sue 's table felt that she should have won the crown for her performances, as she did a wonderful impersonation of Dame Edna Everage, and sang up a storm as Luciano Pavorotti!! Though not the winner as such, Sue and her fellow contestants should be applauded, as between them they raised over $120,000 . A fantastic effort for such a worthy cause! Good on yer , Sue!

Editor's note: Sounds like it was a good night all round!

MORE FROM MARION'S

If a picture is worth a thousand words, here's another six thousand shots! Thanks Judith Dark for sending these on. Beaut memories of a superb time even though Mavis and Ethel were unable to attend. Wonder if they stayed on for the Paralympic Games?

Of course Sir Less Patterson was a welcome guest at the gathering. He was in fine form, just about splashing the girls in the front row with his dribbling. Well done Sir Less.

KENTHURST KATWALK

The blokes sat back and checked them out (and wondered whether their spouses would appear next). The ladies watched eagerly and admired the fine buys that had been made THAT morning.
Here's Sue, Queen of the Racecourse showing off her shopping prowess.

Nola, Lucy and Janice. Who doesn't enjoy a dress up?

Here Judy and Suzi join the line up.

We were blessed by the combination of Rob Hughes,
Dave Baker and Bruce Lucas. Rob and Bruce played together
quite a bit back in 63-64. They've still got it. Thanks guys.

Our fearless leader.... thanks Marion for a great weekend!
We really do appreciate these "home games!"
Sorry if we forgot to light the bonfire! Next time!

One of the paparazzi - our own Helen Smith.
Hope you got some good snaps Helen.

Fay discusses the finer points on How to handle a husband
with Wendy, who has huge expertise in that area. Maybe they'll
put out a book in the near future!
